First, let’s tackle the question that many ask that is: What does obesity and diseases have to do in common? Here’s the thing: your body has finite amounts of energy that it needs to efficiently work and also nutrients that act as lubricants in the body’s processes. When you chew more than you can swallow, there are these extra reserves that the body starts storing in the form of fat. If you do not burn this fat because of a sedentary lifestyle, you are left with reserves that just stay put on your body and have no use. This is the reason why diseases begin to slowly develop. It has been scientifically proved that those who are overweight or obese have a shorter lifespan as well as an increased risk of health-related issues.

High Blood Pressure/Hypertension

It is estimated that close to 100 million people suffer from high blood pressure and hypertension. With stress being a major player with this disease, being obese is also another major cause. The fat stored in your body clogs arteries and doesn’t allow for free movement of blood and other nutrients throughout your system and this causes blood flow restrictions. This disease is one of the major causes for another health related issue that is heart disease.

Heart Disease

Again, it has been scientifically proven that there is a link between obesity and heart disease. Those who are overweight are more likely to get a heart attack or even a stroke. Adolescents who are obese will get some heart related issue from high blood pressure to a heart attack before the age of 35 if they don’t cut down their weight. Heart disease is one of the major causes of death in the millennial world as more and more people are succumbing to it because of hidden cholesterol that doesn’t show its head until it is too late and an attack happens.

Cholesterol

There is a substance known as low-density lipoprotein (LDL) that transports cholesterol through your blood system to other parts of the body. If the level of cholesterol in the body increases, then there is an issue of the additional fat clogging the arteries that, as you are aware by now, causes blood constriction and ultimately leads to the possibility of a heart attack.

Cancer

The American Heart Association has determined that by being overweight, your chances of getting cancer increases by up to 50%! The connection could be due to the additional fat storage in the body that doesn’t burn as energy and also because of the carcinogens that are present in fried oils.
